How to export Outlook emails as EML
Microsoft Outlook commonly saves individual messages as .msg files, while many web and desktop email tools use .eml. EML2HTML Studio is focused on EML files, so Outlook users may need to export or save the message in EML format before conversion.
Option 1: Drag and drop where supported
Depending on your Outlook version, account type, browser and operating system, you may be able to drag a message from Outlook to a folder or directly to the converter. If the dropped file is saved as .eml, the app can process it. If it is saved as .msg, convert or export it to EML first.
Option 2: Use another mail client for export
If your account is available through IMAP, you can open the same mailbox in a client that supports EML export, such as Thunderbird, then save the selected messages as EML files.
Option 3: Convert MSG to EML first
If you only have MSG files, you may need a separate MSG-to-EML conversion step before using this tool. After you have EML files, EML2HTML Studio can convert them to HTML, include headers, keep inline images and package attachments into a ZIP.
Best practice for archiving
For important records, keep the original Outlook message file and the converted HTML or PDF. The original file preserves more technical email data, while HTML and PDF are easier to review quickly.
